The DL Handy Foundation was officially established in September 2022 as a 501c (3), Non-profit organization.
Founded by D. Lamar Handy, a native of Athens, GA, this organization’s purpose is to be a change agent for the community and to lend a helping hand for empowerment and mental health awareness.
Prior to the foundation being established, the founder D. Lamar Handy hosted his first charity event in 2019 as a way to give back to community. Raising $2,000 for the Sparrow’s Nest and Rainbow Village. He continues to work through the community spreading awareness and philanthropy.

“To provide community support services and vital resources through volunteerism, fundraising efforts and scholarships for young adults. Focus areas are Northeast, Georgia and East Atlanta. Our three pillars are community empowerment, scholarships and philanthropy for Mental Health Awareness Initiatives.
